The Sacramento Swiss remember their departed members with lovely memories filled with friendship, traditions, and happiness.
The Sacramento Helvetia Verein braved the cold and rainy weather to gather at Nelson's Grove in Woodland, CA for our annual spring picnic. With great food, a fantastic atmosphere and so many Swiss together, it was a beautiful time to be Swiss!
With about 90 people in attendance, the Sacramento Swiss celebrated their Annual Spring Picnic at Nelson's Grove in Woodland, CA. Camaraderie, games, fun, and wheels of Raclette were shared by the Helvetia Verein to welcome the beautiful weather.
In collaboration with USSNC, the Sacramento Swiss enjoyed a wonderful day with lunch and beer at Ruhstaller Brewery Farm in Dixon, and then headed over to UC Davis to cheer on a fellow Swiss in basketball!
After a long pandemic, the Sacramento Swiss gathered once again for the Spring Picnic. Food and fun were had by all, thank you to all the members who made the day so special!
The Sacramento Helvetia Verein celebrated the beginning of fall with our traditional fondue night! The Sacramento Swiss welcomed members and guests alike for a wonderful night of cheese and wine.
The Sacramento Swiss got together for a holiday party at the end of a tough year. Cookies were baked and exchanged, food was eaten, and the sociable Swiss enjoyed a beautiful rainy afternoon in Midtown, Sacramento.
The Sacramento Swiss enjoyed a tour of the Sacramento Historic City Cemetery. In perfect time for fall, the windy evening was enjoyed by the group. The group was able to learn about some of the contributors, and some of the inhabitants of the cemetery. A few hauntings were even experienced that volunteers of the cemetery helped to conjure!
An adventurous group of the Swiss travelled to San Francisco to hike the famous Land's End Trail in September. It was a beautiful day for enjoying an outing in the bay. The group trekked and were able to see lovely flowers, views of the bay and the bridge, and enjoy each other's company.
The March Hike to the UC Davis Arboretum was a hit! The manageable hike was attended by some of the Sacramento Swiss, who enjoyed walking through the plants, wildflowers and trees UC Davis has to offer. After the hike, the group got together for a spaced out picnic lunch in a shaded area.
The Swiss Club made an outing to the Wakamatsu Farm in Placerville, CA. It was a warm and sunny day in May, but the group was able to hike around the property, learning about the different animals that resided in the area and the humble beginnings of the farm. There was also a presentation from one of the docents who taught about the Japanese Samurai and carpenters who founded the first Japanese colony at Wakamatsu.
